Journey from Zanskar

On Thursday, January 25th, Sierra Friends of Tibet are partnering with The Onyx Downtown at the Nevada Theatre (401 Broad Street, Nevada City, CA) to present the documentary feature film Journey from Zanskar in honor of the Tibetan Monks return to our community. It tells the emotional story of 17 small children who leave Zanskar and family, possibly forever, in order to save their dying Tibetan culture. Tickets are $13 for this evening, with a portion of proceeds benefiting Sierra Friends of Tibet. The Tibetan Monks will also be present and bless the theater before the screening. Doors will open at 6:30pm and the blessing will take place at 7pm, with the film presentation beginning shortly after. Filmmaker Frederick Marx will be in attendance for Q&A after the film.
