Fresh off their appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show, Beatlemania was at a fever pitch when A HARD DAY’S NIGHT was released in 1964. The brash attitude and energy that would come to define the youth culture of the 1960s was encapsulated perfectly in this film, which thumbed its nose at conventional filmmaking in favor of experimental techniques.
