UpStart Theatre Company presents Fuddy Meers
The actor and artist collaborative, Upstart Theatre Company, is returning from a long pandemic-induced hibernation with a passion project that is (shockingly) roughly fifteen years in the making.
“Fuddy Meers is easily my favorite play of all time. I have been casting, recasting, and designing this show in my head for a long time,” said director Danny McCammon,
From the local theater company that brought us Marat/Sade, Emma, Shel’s Shorts, and (ironically, right before the world turned upside down) It’s A Disaster. Fuddy Meers tells the story of an amnesiac, Claire, who awakens each morning as a blank slate on which her husband and teenage son must imprint the facts of her life. One morning she is abducted by a limping, lisping man who claims that her husband wants to kill her, and the audience views the ensuing mayhem through the kaleidoscope of Claire’s world. The play accelerates through a cacophony of revelations, proving that everything is not what it appears to be.
