The Onyx Downtown presents The Host

In anticipation of Bong Joon-ho’s newest film Mickey 17, which debuts later this year, we are excited to celebrate some of the director’s most notable works: The film that first announced Bong Joon-ho to a worldwide audience, The Host is both an excellent monster movie and a blistering political satire. After an American military pathologist dumps hundreds of bottles of formaldehyde into the Han River in South Korea, citizens begin to report sightings of an unusual amphibious creature living in the waterways. A local vendor whose shop is on the river must fight to protect his family, once the monster emerges from its lair.
