In anticipation of Bong Joon-ho’s newest film Mickey 17, which debuts later this year, we are excited to celebrate some of the director’s most notable works: For our final film in the series, we offer the winner of the 2019 Palme d’Or and the first non-English language film to win Best Picture at the Academy Awards, PARASITE is undoubtedly Bong Joon-ho’s crowning achievement. Join us as we revisit the genre-blending classic that mixes thriller, horror, and black comedy whilst putting wealth inequality firmly under the microscope. When the son of an impoverished household lies his way into employment as a private tutor for the daughter of a tech CEO, he begins to develop feelings for his pupil. Meanwhile, his sister and parents follow his lead, gaining employment from the wealthy family through amoral means. Their infiltration into the upper crust will come with consequences no one could foresee.
