C.A.T.S. and The Onyx Downtown present Rashomon
March 18th @ 7:00pm
As a prelude to the upcoming stage production of RASHOMON, CATS and The Onyx Downtown are co-presenting a special screening of Akira Kurosawa’s acclaimed 1950 film at the Nevada Theatre. This screening also serves as a fundraiser benefiting CATS.
The screening takes place on Wednesday, March 18 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $20.
This event is presented as a “Bento Box Dinner and Movie.” Guests will have the option to purchase a bento box from Kaliko’s Hawaiian Kitchen food truck, parked in front of the Nevada Theatre, and enjoy their meal inside the theatre. Concessions will also be available.
Before the screening, there will be a Japanese sword fight demonstration. Following the film, Sonny Alforque, director of the stage production, will lead a brief talk exploring how Kurosawa’s film is interpreted and reimagined for the stage.
This special screening offers a thoughtful introduction to RASHOMON, which runs April 23 – May 16 at the Nevada Theatre.
