Onyx Downtown Presents Carrie

Our second double feature pays homage to one of the greatest horror authors of all time, Stephen King. The first novel King ever published, CARRIE was also the first to be adapted into a feature film when Brian De Palma made it in 1976. The film follows withdrawn and sensitive teen Carrie White (Sissy Spacek), who faces taunting from classmates at school and abuse from her fanatically pious mother at home. When strange occurrences start happening around Carrie, she begins to suspect that she has supernatural powers. As terrifying today as it was upon its release, Carrie marked the beginning of a very fruitful relationship between Stephen King and the silver screen.
