After 4 years of being open and under the Nevada Theatre Co., a terrible suit is brought against them and they are forced to sell the venue. On August 10, 1869 the Nevada Theatre Co. sold the Nevada Theatre to William Tisdale at a Sheriff’s sale for $4,408.35. William Tisdale holds onto the place for only 2 years before deciding to sell to George F. Jacobs for $3,000.00 on April 27, 1871. At this time the southerly portion of land is sold to John Allen, which later becomes the building property for the Miners Foundry.
