SUMMARY:PAUL EMERY PRESENTS BARBARA JARRELL & FRIENDS
DESCRIPTION:Friday, November 7th at 7:30pm\nBarbara Jarrell, a former foothills resident, trod a long path to becoming a full-time musician. She’s been an architectural drafts person, graphic artist, gas station attendant, delivery person, choir director, band leader, Unitarian Universalist Chaplain, landscaper, and a video producer/director. She was the winner of the Kerrville New Folk Award in 2023.\nThe Louisiana-born singer/songwriter moved to the Sierra Nevada foothills in the ’70s by way of Los Angeles. Musician Eleanore MacDonald says “We were a very close knit music community, in Nevada City back in the late 70’s, early 80’s, and Barbara Jarrell was one of the suns that it revolved around. Her music is like a warm cup of tea by the fire on a blizzardy, blustery day….”\nHer intimate style was an inspiration to songwriters performing at open mics and in clubs, and she developed a huge following in Nevada County. But even though the foothills felt like home – she loved the mountains, the people and the Yuba River – in 1983 her family drew her back to her hometown of Shreveport, where she has resided ever since.\nShe will be joined on stage by Eleanore MacDonald, Paul Kamm, Jerry Gazanio, Peter Wilson and more.\n\nBarbara Jarrell & Friends ( https://paulemerymusic.com/barbara-jarrell-friends/ )\n\nTickets Available HERE\n\n
