DESCRIPTION:Sierra Stages begins its 13th season with “Tiny Beautiful Things” — based on the book by Cheryl Strayed, adapted for the stage by Nia Vardalos, and co-conceived by Marshall Heyman, Thomas Kail, and Nia Vardalos — playing from March 4 through March 26 at the historic Nevada Theatre in Nevada City.\nA celebration of the simple beauty of being human, this funny, deeply touching, and uplifting play is an exploration of resilience, based on Cheryl Strayed’s journey as the beloved anonymous advice columnist for “Dear Sugar.” Over the years, thousands of people turned to “Sugar” for words of wisdom, compassion, and hope. Reluctant to claim that she has all the answers, Sugar looks to her own past and draws on her life experiences to bring light, laughter, and humanity to others.\n“Tiny Beautiful Things” is directed by Sands Hall. The cast includes John Gardiner, Lois Masten, Tracie Nickle, and Trevor Wade. Scenic design is by Pam Hodges, lighting design is by Les Solomon, and costume design is by Paulette Sand-Gilbert.\nPerformances of “Tiny Beautiful Things” are on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 PM and Sundays at 2 PM. (There is also one Thursday evening performance on March 24 at 7:30 PM.) All seating is reserved. For the first performance on March 4, tickets are $20 for all seats. Thereafter, ticket prices are $32 (rows A-H) and $27 (rows J-O).\nTickets may be purchased with no additional charge online at www.SierraStages.org and over the phone by calling Sierra Stages at 530.346.3210. Tickets may also be purchased at the door, subject to availability.
